Blue

If my eyes do not flash bright blue for you
They have never been for anyone
If my heart breaks, it breaks because it knows it is alone
The words cannot be written to take the place of the fruit of your flesh
So I remain in a quiet solitary state
I am mid-stream crossing from stone to mossy stone
Always in peril of being tipped into the swirling flow
Thus I stand on a rock and ponder
I want to cross the stream as ever I did
But now I stand and peer into the black
To see how deep the water is
