On Separation and Unity

I sit among the crowds alone
Immersed in pleasures all our own.
In your eyes and thoughts departed
consolation eases
Time's eager expectation of encounters
not completed
In transit I am free to think
Distraction's liberation.
What it means this corporeal link
of constant inspiration.
Adoration's gazes steal – beauty to the eyes reveal.
Yet your absence leads the mind somewhere deeper still
To appreciation of where passion meets the will.
Two mated souls whose blended wholes
Ignore their own displacement
Such fated pairs that true love share
Found distance's replacement.
